Wells Fargo Center is the home of the Philadelphia Flyers, 76ers, Soul and tons of other events such as concerts, college sports and circuses just to name a few. I have attended hockey games, basketball games and concerts and I think it is safe to say that it is one of my favorite arenas I have been to. With a variety of gluten free options it is sure to make any event you attend there even more enjoyable. I do want to provide a disclaimer that not all stands are always open for every event.
When the gluten free locations are open they are definitely worth it! “Spring Garden – A Healthy Neighborhood” is a stand located on both the main concourse and mezzanine levels that specializes in poke bowls with quinoa, brown rice, roasted vegetables, tofu, and avocado. You might be thinking “Hmm a country concert, my cowboy boots, a good buzz and ….a poke bowl!?” I know it sounds crazy but I guarantee you will not regret it. The ingredients taste so fresh and quinoa is more versatile than you think.
If you are not in the mood for a Poke bowl, and want to stick to a philly staple, Chickies & Petes fries along with the famous cheese dip are gluten free! (THANK GOD!!) You can find them all around the arena in sections 103, 116, 204, 210, 216 and 220.
So, that buzz we talked about earlier…lets get to it! There are a couple different gluten free drink options to choose from. Bon & Viv spiked seltzer was at most drink stands, but was limited to the Black Cherry and Grapefruit flavors. The Wells Fargo center also offers one of my personal favorites, Stella Cidre. At larger events there are some bars that open up and have a full range of liquors for different mixed drinks.
Like most large venues today be prepared to pay over $20 dollars for a meal and a drink. Aside from that Wells Fargo Center definitely keeps the gluten free community in mind and that is certainly something we appreciate!
