Gluten Free on Oahu

Traveling to Oahu can be super easy if you are on a gluten free diet. Below are some of my recommendations around the island on where to find the best gluten free and celiac friendly options! I specifically visited Honolulu, North Shore, Ko Olina and Lanikai.

Dukes Waikiki – Dukes restaurant is an amazing place for gluten free. The vibes are really fun and there is live music. We in the dining room the first night and had a seat closest to the beach. The fish is incredible. The next night we went we sat in the bar area and I had a gluten free burger. The bun was actually really good! The menu is marked with gluten free items.

2335 Kalakaua Ave., Suite 116
Honolulu, HI 96815

Nook Neighborhood Bistro – The Nook is in Honolulu, but a 10 minute drive away from the hustle of Waikiki. They have delicious gluten free chicken and waffles, French toast and other breakfast items.

1035 University Ave. #105 Honolulu, HI

North Shore:

Banzai Sushi – Banzai Sushi is located in Haleiwa. The sushi is delicious and the menu has a ton of gluten free options. They even have gluten free soy sauce!

66-246 Kamehameha Hwy
Haleiwa, HI 96712

Dole Plantation – Dole Plantation is a must if you love pineapples and you love ice cream. The Dole Whip is gluten free, dairy free, vegan and free of the top allergens.

64-1550 Kamehameha Hwy.
Wahiawa, Hawaii 96786

Haleiwa Food Trucks – If you are driving around the town of Haleiwa then I recommend grabbing some fresh fish from their food trucks. Delicious and fresh caught daily!

Turtle Bay Resort – We didn’t stay here, but did stop by Roy’s Beach House. The menu has gluten free items marked.

I would highly recommend stopping by Whole Foods to get some snacks, doing the Lanikai Pillbox bike and then grabbing lunch at California Pizza Kitchen one morning in Oahu.

Whole Foods Market – Whole Foods always has a selection of gluten free snacks, bread, fruits and vegetables.

629 Kailua Road, Suite 100, Kailua, HI 96734

California Pizza Kitchen – I know this is a chain, but I had actually never gone before the trip to Oahu. The gluten free barbecue chicken pizza is SO good. They take proper precautions to make sure that the pizza is safe to consume for someone with celiac disease.

609 Kailua Road, Space 110/111
Kailua, HI 96734

Ko Olina

Longboards – In Ko Olina we stayed at the Marriott that has an amazing gluten free restaurant outside on the water. Longboards is a causal and chill spot with great drinks and gluten free options.

92-161 Waipahe Pl, Kapolei, HI 96707

AMA AMA – This restaurant is part of the Disney Resort in Ko Olina. It is definitely upscale and more expensive. They were amazing about handling celiac and food allergies and the chef came to talk to me to make sure that everything was safe. Disney has a great reputation for handling food allergies and they definitely deserve it! The views are amazing. I recommend going around sunset.

I am going to Maui in a few weeks so comment all of your recommendations below! Thanks for reading!

Hi! Yes – I went to Maui also. I should write a post about it. My favorite dinner was Lahaina Grill. So fresh and so good. Definitely check out Maui brick oven in Kihei – their gluten free mozzarella sticks are so good. The whole place is gf! Also they have Dukes in Maui! We went there twice 😋
